“I Wore Zash On My Nikkah”

The morning of her nikkah was quieter than Ayesha had imagined.

She had spent months being told what a bride should look like - heavier fabrics, more embellishment, something she would wear once and keep in a box. None of it felt like her.

What she wanted was simpler: something she could breathe in through a long day of family, prayers and photographs, and something she would still reach for long after the day was over.

“I wanted to look like myself on the most important day of my life.”

She found it in a ZASH piece with clean lines, soft drape and a colour her grandmother said reminded her of early light. It moved with her, sat comfortably through hours of sitting and standing, and needed nothing added to it.

Her family noticed the calm before they noticed the outfit - and to Ayesha, that was exactly the point.

Since then, the same piece has been to two weddings, an Eid lunch and a quiet anniversary dinner. Each time it feels a little more hers.

A tree was planted for it too. Ayesha likes knowing that something from that day is still growing.
